This very special Gouda cheese will be a welcome addition to your next charcuterie platter. You’ll also find it melts beautifully, opening up endless possibilities for dining and entertaining.
Very few wines will miss the mark when paired with our Gouda, but try a Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, or even your favorite champagne to start. For beer, an ale is a sure bet. Try serving on a cracker with a small wedge of pear or apple, or slice a baguette and melt your Gouda over thinly sliced tomatoes and top with a sliver of capicola or Canadian bacon to experience a little piece of cheese heaven on earth.
Gouda was developed centuries ago in the southern region of the Netherlands and is known for its solid texture and complex character. Young Gouda starts out with an aromatic and sweet, caramel-like flavor that becomes more savory and nutty with age.

The cheeses arrived clearly labeled perishable to be refrigerated. Well packed. Order all correct. I know Hoards from growing up on a small dairy farm in dane county. Dad subscribed to Hoards magazine. We have given Hoards Guernsey cheeses several times as gifts. Always praised: from 82 year old brother to 20 year old grandson. I ordered for our informal family Christmas celebration. I tried the Sark for the first time. Delicious.
First tried this Gouda at Door County Wine Fest and I'm hooked on it!

Very good gouda.
Wrapped it in dough. Heated up in oven 425 degrees for 12 minutes. Not all of it melted, but it was delicious!
Although my first delivery apparently fell off the delivery truck because it was found in the road by someone in Fort Atkinson (I live in Whitewater). However, they handled it great when I told them it had been turned into the police department in Fort Atkinson. I explained to them that I don’t drive and was not able to get the delivery. They sent a replacement the same day at no charge. I got the delivery the next day. The cheese was delicious. I was very satisfied with the product and the way the resolved the problem. Thank you.
Even though the shipping cost almost as much as the cheese, it was worth it.
Gouda is one of my favorites and it's widely available in most groceries, so to compare Hoard's Gouda with that is sort of a challenge. But, I'm sure that for the real connoisseur, the difference would be obvious. For me it's a fine cheese and well worth sampling every once in awhile for a special treat. Maybe even have a 'cheese-tasting' with this and all the Hoard's varieties for friends?
